The beginning of the story
By the grace of God, Dr. John O. Owolabi pursues a dual calling: advancing sustainable energy systems and building leaders and healthy churches. Born in Ekiti State, Nigeria, on June 26, 1983, he holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Hull, England, and a PhD in Missions, Evangelism, and Church Growth from Newburgh Theological Seminary, Indiana- twin credentials that anchor a life devoted equally to rigorous inquiry and the wonder of grace.
His research centers on the dynamic modelling, techno-economic evaluation, and exergy analysis of hybrid geothermal energy storage systems integrated with wind and solar power. He has contributed to funded projects spanning academia and industry, including geothermal heat pump and organic Rankine cycle systems, carbon dioxide solvent regeneration, and resilient agri-food supply chains, and he founded McWorths, an independent engineering consultancy that advises governments, developers, and investors across the full renewable energy value chain.
Ordained in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, he has served in pastoral, teaching, and leadership roles across Nigeria, Pakistan, and England for close to two decades and is the convening author of the Global Kingdom Leaders Series, a nine-volume formation curriculum for ministers and emerging leaders. He serves also as a historiographer of Global Christianity's footprints and an apostolic voice for the revival legacies that shaped it.
He lives in England with his wife and frequent co-author, Dr. Hope Nkechi Owolabi.
